Calling all Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry Writers — Paying Literary Magazines to Send Your Work…

  • 1 min read

They pay for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.

I often get offered freelance writing gigs.

I accepted some in the past but I have my job as a marketing manager so this is a priority for me.

I don’t want to become a freelance writer getting paid by someone else.

Though I know a lot of Medium writers are looking for freelance opportunities. So here are 5 from my new freelance writing club I’m in:

1 — The Paris Review

They open for prose submissions on 1st February 2024.

Will accept submissions via Submittable until they hit their submission cap (which is early on during their reading periods). More here.

2 — Haven Speculative

They publish science fiction and fantasy — fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art.
Deadline: 28 February 2024
Length: Up to 6,000 words for fiction, up to 1,000 words for nonfiction, up to 5 poems
Pay: $0.08/word for prose, and $20 for poetry
More here.
