Salesforce laid off 8,000. How else can they afford its marketing strategy with big names such as McConaughey?

Book author and actor Matthew McConaughey is the new Creative Director and TV pitchman for the well-known cloud-based software company Salesforce.

McConaughey has already starred in a Super Bowl commercial that was one of the top 10 most talked about.

In the ad, the company pokes fun at both the metaverse and the billionaire space race

“It’s not time to escape, it’s time to engage,” McConaughey says in the ad. “While the others look to the metaverse and Mars, let’s stay here and restore ours,” he adds.

This commercial was heavily hyped and was a real hit.

Maybe that’s one of the reasons why McConaughey got a 10 million dollar contract with Salesforce as Creative Director.

Perhaps their big-name marketing strategy is why Salesforce laid off 8,000 employees this year.

Similar to Microsoft who laid off 10,000 employees to invest in ChatGPT.
