Only 1% Of Your Followers See Your Articles In Their Feeds

  • 2 min read

True or false?!

I love YouTube.

The algorithm keeps getting better.

My hubby has around 20K followers and his views are amazing!

In fact, the more subscribers you have, the more people will see your content in their feeds.

What about Medium?

Let’s hear it from Medium superstar Tom Kuegler who has been publishing on this platform for 6 years:

Perhaps the biggest issue I’ve had with Medium is the fact that their algorithm just flat out sucks.

I have 50K+ followers here and 1% of my followers see my content.

I couldn’t agree more.

My followers and students tell me they don’t see my stories in their feeds, too.

Luckily, Tom reached out to web developer Trevor from Medium via Twitter and shared his feedback.

This is what Trevor replied:

Wrapping it up

So, yes, it’s true.

Medium’s algorithm only lets around 1% of our followers see our stories.

As far as I’m concerned, this post will be shown only to 50 people.

A big thank you to every one of you who clicked my story and read it!

I’m curious. When you’re a follower and you’ve seen my story in your feed, please reply!
