Oops! My Top 3 Medium Mistakes And How To Avoid Them

  • 3 min read

you‘ll find these mistakes golden because you can make sure to avoid them

I’ve been writing on Medium for more than one year now.

Along the way, I’ve succeeded, I’ve failed, and I’ve definitely tripped a time or two.

In this article, I share my top 3 mistakes that I’ve made in hopes that you can learn from me, avoid these same mistakes, and build a thriving online writing business quickly.

Mistake #3

⭕️Thinking the writing you’re creating is the end-all, be-all, and getting stuck if it doesn’t feel perfect.

✅When you’re writing, don’t try to be perfect, because it’s not ever going to be perfect.

Mistake #2

⭕️Thinking that other people were judging me, worried about what everyone else thought, and giving in to imposter syndrome.

✅You can’t worry about what others think of you. Instead, you have to show up for yourself and make yourself proud. Just write like no one’s watching.

Mistake #1

⭕️Continuing to edit my drafts far beyond when I should have stopped and hit publish.

✅Stop editing and hit publish. Medium’s algorithm loves when you publish regularly and your readers’ attention span is lower than from a goldfish. They just scan your text so make it scannable.
