  • 2 min read

Become a formatting pro.

What I love most about Medium is that the publishing platform makes writing and formatting stories super duper simple.

All you have to do is to select the text you want to format and choose the relevant option from the toolbar.

Below you see how Medium’s story editor looks:

The formatting options are:

1 — Bold — make your text bold, i.e. bold

2 — Italics — generate italic text, i.e. italic text

3 — Links — embed hyperlinks to your story, i.e. your referral link in the text or as a box

4 — Title/Headers — create your title and header,

i.e. header

5 — Subtitle/Subheaders — create a subtitle and subheaders

i.e. subheader

6 — Quotes — create block or pull quotes

i.e. block quote

i.e. pull quote

7 — Drop caps — turn the first latter of your paragraph into a drop cap

Drop cap

8 — Private note — leave a private note which only you and the people you’re going to share your draft with will see

To format an article on Medium, simply select the text you want to format and choose the relevant option from the toolbar.
