This Mindshift Is Your Ticket To True Freedom

  • 1 min read

If anyone lost any monkeys, I know where they are…in my head.

I recently read Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty.

According to Buddha, we all have monkey minds.

The monkey mind represents our inner critic with dozens of monkeys all clamoring for attention, jumping around and chatting endlessly.

It’s that part of ourselves that won’t shut up. This inner negative thought loop goes on and on and on.

I’m ugly.

I’m stupid.

I’m ordinary.

No one loves me

I’m not cut out for this.

The bad news:

The more you try to shut it down, the more it resists.

How can you tame the monkeys inside you?

You have to separate yourself from your thoughts and tell yourself.

I have a mind, but I’m not my mind.

I have thoughts, but I’m not those thoughts.

Becoming aware of this, is your ticket to true freedom!
