Why It’s Smart To Join YouTube As a Part-Time Creator

  • 1 min read

YouTube is lowering its barrier to revenue.

YouTube is such a behemoth for creators. It’s nice to see they’ve lowered the ceiling a bit.

Things are changing, and thankfully so.

Lowering The Barrier To Revenue

In a recent blog post, YouTube announced that it is lowering the requirements for joining the YouTube Partner Program (YPP)

The new requirements you have to meet:

  • Have 500 subscribers
  • 3 public uploads in the last 30 days
  • 3,000 watch hours in the past year or 3 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.

Meeting these requirements offers early access to certain monetization features

– Channel Membership

– Super Chat

– Super Thanks

– Super Stickers

Great opportunity for part-time creators

My content triangle is Medium — Substack — YouTube.

So I’m very happy that I can make money with my almost 500 subscribers when I have 3,000 watch hours.

I believe in the fan-funding options!
